Art has subject, forum, and content. Forum consists of shape, line, point, value, texture, color, and space. Organizing principles is very important in art. Repitition, negative space, and change are important as well. The negative spaces create the focal point.
The more monotonous something is, the more harmonious it is. The more chaotic something is, the more it contrasts. Repitition, rhythm, and pattern are all a part of harmony because they create balance, gravity, symmetry, and asymmetry.
Scale and proportion are a part of harmony and they create dominance and economy.
We looked at photos of art work done by minimalists and post minimalists such as Robert Morris and Eva Hesse.
